Latte Mei 奶蓋咩

Love: ★★★
Latte Mei on Urbanspoon

This is a new bubble tea place in downtown. It's very close to Chatime. The good thing is it offers a complete different set of drinks from Chatime and gave us more bubble tea options!

I have never tried this savory cream tea, although I have heard about it so many times from my Taiwanese friends and I assume it's the most popular drink in Taiwan. This is my very first time to try. It comes with a salty cream on top of black tea (or green tea). My friend told me that I shouldn't stir it and the correct to way to drink is to have a big sip which contains both salty and sweet parts. Hmmmmm......it tastes very......different! I don't like it very much, but I think it worth trying and I know a lot of people LOVE this taste!

Actually, I think I am gonna try "grass jelly white gourd" next time.

Aside from savory cream teas, they also offer some very unique kinds of bubble teas, such as tea with basil seeds, fruit teas, and my favorite white gourd! They also have chocolate waffles for $1.

Again, we can also customize ice/sugar level. For latte mei, it's not too sweet overall, so people could try with normal level of sugar.

The very cute thing is they have this small package of tissue papers. haha good marketing strategy and very Taiwanese indeed! They also have the points card so don't forget to get one when buying.

Here is the story of Latte Mei!
(Honestly, I haven't read it....lol....but it's for anyone who is interested in brand history!)

Overall, the location is good and I love the unique flavours they have. However, the place is a little bit too small and could be crowded sometimes. Not good for sitting there but it's good for take out!

Little Sheep Hop Pot- 小肥羊

Love: ★★★★★
Little Sheep Hot Pot on Urbanspoon

This is the first time I have been here and I think this place is the best hop pot place in Toronto. It beats all!!

We went there on Thursday night and it's all-you-can-eat for $18 (I remember it's only $14 for lunch, which is super cheap.) I add 2.5 to upgrade to 2 kinds of soups. One is just the typical one with chinese medicine (it tastes really yummy), and the other one is the spicy one, which goes really well with the meats!

Although it's all you can eat, the lamp and beef are very fresh and we need to order it from the waiter (it's included in the price, so don't worry). They said they just made fresh slices in the kitchen. I believe them cause it's really thin and tasted delicious!!

My friend told me I should make 2 kinds of sauce, one is for beef and the other is for lamp. The sesame sauce goes really well with the lamp and that's the first time I know these 2 things could go so well together! haha

They also offer bunch other things in the buffet bar, such as meat balls and vegetables. I don't have any picture here cause it's just the same and nothing special for that. However, I have to mention that the drinks here are good as well, especially the plum juice! I had so many of them. They also offer soy milk which I am afraid to try cause it's hard to imagine how it goes with hot pot.

Anyway, this is a great hot pot place. The food is good and it's clean. I will definitely be back!

Sansotei Ramen

Love: ★★★
Sansotei on Urbanspoon

It's a new ramen place in downtown. I have to say I like kinton more.

The price is similar, but the food in kinton is much more delicate. The taste of food here is not bad, but the portion is small. My friend was still hungry after his meal. He had one ramen and fried chicken but apparently still not enough for an adult man.

The best sell is their Tonkotsu ramen. The soup is good, but the noodles could be better.

Hmmm....the location is pretty good, so we probably will be back. However, it's definitely not our best choice.

F13 Powerboat @ harbourfront center

Love: ★★★★★

This is the F13 powerboat we tried last month. 2 seats and fuel is included. All we need to do is bring our full G license. No need for experience! How amazing it is!

Butter Avenue

Love:★★★★

I am always craving for macarons. This is the place I can't complain.

The staff are very nice and friendly. They gave me samples to try. My favorite flavor is lavender and something called garden XXXX (sorry that I forgot!), but anyway, they have bunch of flavors which are unique and I am sure you will find at lease one flavor you will fall in love with!

Bravo! Hope there is one in DT soon!

Pure + Simple

Love: ★★★★★
Pure + Simple is the best spa I have ever been!

I've heard lots of good reviews about this place, so I decided to give it a try this Monday. I tried Urban Renewal facial, and guess what? It's really the best spa experience in downtown toronto. First, they began with cleaning and extraction. I felt really relaxed by the gentle and soft facial massage during cleaning, and more importantly, the extraction is not painful at all. There are 2 masks in this facial, which both smell pretty good. They even gave me the arm, foot and scalp massage when I was put on the masks!

It's a wonderful and relaxing spa experience! I will definitely be back!
